Q: How many atheist groups are there in the Salt Lake valley?
A: At least 5 that we know of. Check the “State & Local Organizations” on our links page to see a list of them.
Q: Why are there so many atheist groups?
A: Because organizing atheists, agnostics, freethinkers, skeptics, etc, is like herding cats. Also, some of these groups exist to serve very different purposes. Some of them are involved in political activities like lawsuits and lobbying and some are solely for like-minded individuals to get together and discuss common interests.
Q: What is the purpose/mission for this group?
A: Please see our mission statement, currently it is on our about us page.
Q: Is this group affiliated with any national groups?
A: Yes. As of April 2009, we are now affiliated with American Atheists.
Q: How can I meet other Atheists in Utah?
A: One, check out our meetings page and come to an event. Two, hop on over to our online forum, sign up for an account, and get involved in some of the discussions going on there.
